Oil on canvas, 63 x 68 cm. (2022)
On one side we have a medieval knight trying to pop a champagne open with a saber. On the other side, a samurai has already beat the knight to it by slicing the top of his bottle with a katana. The interior is a palace in Veneto where the artist stayed for sometime. He decided to create an absurd situation of East meets West in an unexpected way - a champagne popping competition, taking the idea of confrontation between East and West to the absurd.
Katanage vs Sabrage. Duel. E meets W.
